We invite men and women of various states in life, ages, professions, etc. to participate in our Franciscan Associates program. It is a way to share spiritual resources with the Sisters and help in their apostolates, living the gospel in their own lives. For more information, call Sister Mary Ruth at 701-242-7195 or email srmaryruth@sfcretreats.org.
SOME EXAMPLES OF HOW YOU CAN BE ASSOCIATED WITH THE DILLINGEN FRANCISCANS / HANKINSON PROVINCE 1. ORDINARILY, a person may be associated:
with a specific local house with specific ways of sharing;
Or with Sisters in a particular ministry with specific ways of sharing;
AND/OR with the Congregation, in general, with specific ways of sharing.
The prospective associate in consultation would determine the specifics with the contact person and with the local house members or ministry group if these were involved.
2. When a person who wishes association is unable to participate in the above ways due to TIME LIMITATIONS, association might be achieved through:
praying, fasting, and/or almsgiving in union with the Congregation;
probing with us the meaning of our mission statement so as to live it within the parameters of one's own mission;
becoming informed on a particular social justice area through sharing resources
that we can provide, and joining us in advocacy from your particular place of service;
inviting Sisters to participate in your ministry in a specified way;
through one or more of the above means, with participation in congregational events and programs as this is possible.
Again, your contact person would be helpful in determining the specifics of the agreement.
3. When Association is limited due to DISTANCE, it could be facilitated by one
or more of the means suggested in #2, above. Association at a distance could also include:
o occasional visits to participate in congregational activities;
exchange of hospitality as Sisters and Associates travel in different areas.
WE ARE OPEN TO EXPLORING OTHER WAYS OF ASSOCIATION WITH THOSE WHO ENVISION FURTHER POSSIBILITIES.
